Polyurea

Polyurea is a 100% solids, plural component spray applied elastomer that is fast curing with exceptional physical properties such as flexibility, durability, and chemical resistance. They are one of the best choices for harsher environments where optimum performance and long term durability is required. Moisture insensitivity is one of the major advantages in using polyurea, combining properties of rapid curing, imperviousness to ambient humidity/slight moisture in the substrate surfaces, making it an excellent moisture barrier. Temperature tolerances are also excellent with polyurea sprays, allowing  for fast cure times even at temperature extremes, curing well on cold surfaces making it well suited for extreme plant environments.

  • No VOCs and depending on the formulation generally odour-free
  • Application temperature: -30°C to +60°C, even in high humidity conditions
  • Fast reaction, which means the sprayed surface can be returned to service quickly
  • Excellent heat resistance up to 130°C, short-term up to 220°C
  • Considerably better UV stability compared to polyurethanes
  • Waterproof (acts as a seal) and hydrolysis stable
  • High tensile strength, in the order of 1450 – 4350 psi (10 – 30 MPa)
  • Large elongation at break, in the order of a few hundred to 1000%
  • Flexible (bridges cracks)
  • Can be applied at any thickness
  • Excellent bonding to properly prepared substrates
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Simpler machine processing due to low viscosities
